LazytypeLazytype is built to keep your words yours. This policy explains, in plain language, what data we process, why, and the choices you have.
Who we are
Lazytype (the service at lazytype.com and the Lazytype application) is a product of Basinc BV, a private limited company registered in the Netherlands, which is the data controller for the processing described here. You can reach us at support@lazytype.com.
Company details: Basinc BV, registered in the Netherlands. Our Chamber of Commerce (KvK) and VAT numbers and registered address are available on request via support@lazytype.com.
What we process, and why
The website. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. Our host (Hostinger) keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and the pages requested) to run and secure the site.
The app, with your own key (trial and Personal). Your audio is sent from your device straight to your chosen transcription provider (Groq) using your own API key. It does not pass through us, and we do not receive or store it.
The app, managed plan (Pro). When we host the transcription, a short audio clip is sent to our server only to transcribe it, then immediately forwarded to Groq. We do not store the audio or the resulting text. We keep a minimal usage record (a license identifier, the number of seconds, and the date) to prevent abuse and protect the service.
Purchases. Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe, not to us. We store your email address and the license key we issue to you, so we can deliver and support your purchase.
Who processes data on our behalf
- Groq — speech transcription and optional AI clean-up.
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
- Hostinger — website hosting and email.
How long we keep it
We keep your license and purchase records for as long as your license is active and as required for accounting. Usage records for the managed plan are kept only briefly (a rolling window of a few days).
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to limit how we use it. Email support@lazytype.com and we will help. You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in the Netherlands, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
We do not sell your data
We never sell your personal data, and we never use your audio to train models.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. The date at the top reflects the latest version.
